MR PINK LOERIE MARDI GRAS 2013

Who can enter? This popular competition as part of the annual Pink Loerie Mardi Gras is open to all males between the ages of 18 to 40 years of age. We are looking for a gorgeous, sexy, irresistible and healthy looking male. Winners of Mr Mardi Gras do consistently well when they enter Mr Gay South Africa™ later in the year – so far, the top two have qualified every year for that competition. Although Mr Mardi Gras is not part of Mr Gay South Africa™, it is the only competition in the country which is of the same high standard as Mr GSA – although the focus here is fun and spirit! It is an excellent opportunity as a practice run for Mr GSA. (required)

When do I have to be available? Where and what time? The competition is on Friday 3 May 2013 and a rehearsal will take place on the day at 15h00 at Zanzibar and the show at 22H00 at Zanzibar, Main Street, Knysna. (required)

What will the competition consist of? The entrants will compete in two rounds: Bone Wear (will be supplied) and Jeans (one third each of marks) – your choice with or without shirt. Participants will be required to model sponsor clothes in a fashion parade. A short interview will be conducted at the rehearsals which will count the final one third of the mark and the 'spirit' of Mardi Gras is tested - who will be the most fun and outgoing without being OTT. Any prizes? There will be prizes and clothing from the official sponsors for 2013, Bone Wear and more … Mr Mardi Gras winners annually take home more than R40 000 in value in prizes. (required)

Any public appearances? The winner will be in the official parade on the Saturday together with the two runner ups. During the next year the winner might be needed for an interview or two or an appearance promoting the Pink Loerie Mardi Gras. You will be required to attend Pink Loerie 2014 to hand over the crown. Each contestant will also be required to attend at least one of the Art Festival shows e.g. Little Poof etc. Proof of attendance will be tested during the interview. (required)

Will any photographs be taken? Yes! And the Pink Loerie organizers will have the right to use photographs at their own discretion in all mainstream media. (required)

Who will the judges be? They will be from all walks of life and from across SA – from the current Mr. Mardi Gras, Steve Williams, Mr. Gay South Africa™ 2013 Jason Rogers and more, to gay media and activists. Coenie Kukkuk, Director Africa of Mr Gay World will also observe the proceedings. (required)

What will I be judged on? Your body, over all appearance and your Mardi Gras spirit in a casual interview. So, if you think you have it all and can be the newest hottest thing in the land – please fill out the entry form below. The closing date for entries is 15 April 2012. If too many entries are received – a preliminary round will be held and a panel of judges will choose the finalists from the photos sent in. (required)

I agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless Pink Loerie Mardi Gras Festivals Southern Africa CC and each of its respective shareholders, officers, directors, managers, employees and agents, from and against any and all losses, liabilities, injuries, damages, medical fees and any other costs and expenses which I may incur as a result of my participation in Pink Loerie Mardi Gras Festivals Southern Africa CC Pageant at any of the premises designated in the build-up to and including the pageant venue. I further agree that my participation in the Pink Loerie Mardi Gras Festivals Southern Africa CC Pageant and its activities is undertaken by myself on a purely voluntary basis and I have, in no way, been coerced to participate in such activity by any of the shareholders, officers, directors, managers, employees and agents of Pink Loerie Mardi Gras Festivals Southern Africa CC and is at my own risk. I agree not to bring the pageant or festival into disrepute at risk of disqualification. RULES. General: 1. The organisers/employees/judges/sponsors will not be responsible for any loss, damage or injuries suffered during the competition. 2. By entering this competition all contestants agree to accept the outcome and the judges decision as final. 3. Winners will be required to sign a contract with the organisers. 4. I further agree that my name and identity may be revealed in descriptive text or commentary in connection with the image(s). I authorise the use of these images without compensation to me. All negatives, prints, digital reproductions so given by me, taken by or off me, shall be the property of Pink Loerie Mardi Gras Festivals Southern Africa CC. 6. Any contestant under the influence of alcohol or drugs during the interviews or competition will be disqualified. 7. I consent not to contact with media, advertisers, confirmed sponsors or any mention of the pageant or festival without the knowledge and consent of the members of Pink Loerie Mardi Gras Festivals Southern Africa CC. 8. I further consent to uphold the good name and reputation of pageant and festival at all times and to conduct myself in such a manner as not to cause harm or damage to the pageant and festival or bring the pageant and festival or trademark’s name into disrepute. I agree further that I have read the rules of the competition on the entry form, agree to it and agree that: 9. Prizes are not exchangeable for a cash value. 10. The organisers/pageant and festival will not be held responsible for any loss or damage whatsoever related to the competition before or after the competition or for whatever reason.
